Professional Biography
Oluwasegun Seun ADEWARA is a Lecturer and PhD student in the Department of Childhood Education at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Primary Education and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Early Childhood Education and is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Childhood Education, an integrated program synthesising early childhood education and primary education pedagogies.
ADEWARA's research bridges developmental psychology, educational pedagogy, and child development across the early and primary school years. His scholarly work has examined the influence of animated cartoons on cognitive functioning, moral development, and social behaviour among primary and early childhood pupils, contributing to the growing body of evidence on media's role in child development within Nigerian educational contexts. More recently, his research has expanded to investigate teachers' pedagogical practices in play-based learning for literacy engagement, as well as teachers' adoption and integration of artificial intelligence technologies in educational settings, addressing critical questions about technology readiness, pedagogical innovation, and the transformation of teaching practice in Nigerian schools.
As a lecturer at Federal University of Education, Kontagora, ADEWARA is committed to preparing prospective educators to implement evidence-based, developmentally appropriate pedagogies across the childhood years. His teaching and research reflect a deep commitment to advancing educational quality in Niger State and Nigeria, and to contributing to regional and global conversations on early childhood development, primary education, play-based pedagogy, and the role of emerging technologies in transforming teaching and learning.
