Dr. Haruna Sani is a Senior Lecturer in Biology Department with research and teaching interests spanning plant science, plant physiology, plant ecology, biotechnology and environmental biology. He has particular research experience in plant tissue culture and in vitro regeneration, with emphasis on Jatropha curcas and Jatropha tanjorensis, plant growth regulators, micropropagation, rooting and acclimatization.
His broader research interests include climate change impacts on arid and semi-arid ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, medicinal and ethnobotanical plants, sustainable agriculture, and the application of modern approaches to solving environmental and agricultural challenges in Nigeria.
He is actively involved in undergraduate teaching, student research supervision, academic conferences, research development and multidisciplinary collaboration.
