Professional Biography
Ahmed Gomna Kuta is a Professor of Fisheries Socio-economics who earned his PhD in 2007 from the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, United Kingdom. His research encompasses cost–return analysis of fish farming, food security, livelihoods, fish consumption surveys, and the socio-economic dynamics of fishing communities. He has published widely in reputable Scopus-indexed journals across Q1, Q3, and Q4 categories. Among his contributions, the 2007 article in the British Journal of Nutrition titled “Inter-household and intra-household patterns of fish and meat consumption in fishing communities in two states in Nigeria” remains particularly influential, having received 109 citations to date. Overall, Professor Kuta’s scholarly work has accumulated 166 citations, with an H-index of 4 and an i10-index of 4. He is a member of the Fisheries Society of Nigeria, Science Teachers Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Association of Vocational and Technical Educators, Nigerian Association for Science Education Research, and Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
